### What is a right to rent share code?

A 9 character code a tenant creates on gov.uk to prove their right to rent in England. You check it together with their date of birth.

### Is there a Home Office right to rent API?

No. The Home Office check is a web page at gov.uk/view-right-to-rent. Check Share Code runs that check and returns the result as JSON.

### What does a right to rent check show?

Whether the person has a right to rent, whether it is time limited, their name and photo, the date their permission ends and a Home Office reference.
